Speaker Series recap: Dr. Allison Dempsey on hybrid care and mindLAMP

Today's Grand Rounds brought together clinicians, researchers, and digital health practitioners for a rich discussion on the real-world integration of technology into mental health care delivery.
Dr. Allison Dempsey and Matt Flathers presented on the integration of digital tools into clinical mental health care, with a shared focus on the Digital Clinic model, a hybrid care approach that combines weekly therapy with a clinician, mindLAMP-based passive and active data collection, and support from a digital navigator.
Dr. Dempsey spoke on behalf of the BBI-CEN, offering a framework for how technology fits into a stepped care model and the role mindLAMP plays within it. She discussed the integration of digital navigators into clinical workflows and shared early findings from BBI-CEN's implementation of the Digital Clinic, including initial patient feedback.
Matt Flathers extended this by zooming in on the digital navigator role and how AI tools can help navigators work more effectively. He presented an AI-in-the-loop workflow that uses a locally hosted LLaMA model to synthesize literacy and training materials, supporting navigators as they take on a more central role in technology-augmented care delivery.
Thank you to everyone who joined and contributed to today's discussion, and a special thanks to Dr. Dempsey and Matt for sharing their work and insights with our community.
